New Crew Member: Jared Christman
Published July 11, 2017
Jared joined Ten Forward just over a month ago, but he's already starting to feel like part of the crew. As our new visual designer and brand strategist, his skills will be a valuable addition to our work (especially for our startup clients).
He's a proud cheesehead, and happy to be back in Wisconsin after working in Chicago the last few years; we're happy to have someone in-office to make our work prettier and more user-friendly (and to settle heated disputes about how much padding is enough).
Welcome to the team, Jared!
Tell us a bit about yourself and how you got to Ten Forward.
I am a visual designer originally from Green Bay, but I came to Ten Forward by way of Chicago. I love pizza, pit bulls and pretty colors.
What are you looking forward to learning or doing in your new position here?
I'm excited to work with Ten Forward's team of developers. They're a great group, and I can't wait to collaborate more!
What drew you to design as a career?
It all started the day I got my Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers coloring book.
What's the one thing you wish developers knew about web design?
Don't be afraid to push boundaries. Good design comes from following the rules; great design comes from breaking them.
Fill in the blanks: "If I could only __ one __ for the rest of my life, it would be __."
"If I could only eat at one fast food shop for the rest of my life, it would be Potbelly."
What's something about you people might find surprising?
Can we see some pictures of your new dog?
Favorite board game/video game, TV show/movie, band/musician, emoji.
Board (card) game: Coup
Video game: "Injustice 2"
TV show: "Broad City" and "Bob's Burgers"
Movie: "Home Alone"
Music: I shamelessly love all my pop star queens (Robyn, Kylie, Britney, etc.)
Next time we're in Chicago, the one thing we should do is ______.
Eat all the pizza. All of it.
Star Trek or Star Wars?
Can I plead the fifth here?
