Social Impact and Tech in Madison
How can we use tech to create change in our community?
This was the question that brought a great crowd on Wednesday to Madworks Coworking space in the University Research Park, where Ten Forward's workspace is located.
"Tech and Social Impact" brought together a diverse group of non-profit employees and volunteers, social justice advocates and tech leaders. Guests were asked to wear a blue sticker if they were a member of the tech community and a red sticker if they represented a non-profit/social justice organization.
The goal was to connect powerful tech skills with non-profit organizations looking to grow and reach wider audiences (without necessarily having the resources to do so).
The event was organized by Jared Christman, Ten Forward's designer and an Organizing for Action Fellow, and featured a talk from Hilary Stohs-Krause, a Ten Forward developer, Madison Women in Tech organizer and founder of Team 19.
Special thanks to OFA for organizing, Ian's for the pizza, our fearless leaders Jared and Hilary for contributing and URP for letting us use our Ten Forward home for hosting!
